Rampage is set to venture into some pretty interesting territory. Adapting a popular but old school video game into a blockbuster motion picture. Crossing over into that territory with a monsters narrative of their own, the cast is starting to come together ahead of production beginning in earnest this month.
With Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson leading the show to play an anti-poaching primatologist based in the African country of Rwanda, the Baywatch star will have a few colleagues along for the ride. With Malin Akerman portraying the villain of the piece and Naomie Harris as a geneticist sidekick for Johnson, The Walking Dead's own Jeffrey Dean Morgan has signed on according to Deadline.
JDM Jumping From The Fire Pit To The Fryer For Next Job
Being the man that everyone loves to hate is not something that can sit comfortably with many performers. Even when we all know that the world of movies and television is pure fiction. Taking to the brutal dictator who acts as judge, jury and executioner on the hit AMC show has taken Morgan's career to new heights. And he will hope to entice a number of those viewers over to this feature.
The 50-year old Seattle native is said to be playing a secretive government agent under a mysterious department that goes by the alias OGA. Although that is far from a sexy description, a source has explained that Morgan will carry his typical confidence as he "rolls with serious swagger and attitude."
Before making waves on the small screen, he did likewise for the 2009 DC spinoff Watchmen, playing the anti-hero of all anti-heroes in the form of The Comedian. The remainder of the cast is to be rounded off with Magic Mike XXL star Joe Manganiello, Jake Lacy, Marley Shelton, PJ Byrne, Jack Quaid, Matt Gerald and Breanne Hill.
The Rock Is Bald And Proud Of It
When Showtime's A Season With tweeted a reminder to Johnson about his days with follicles, the former WWE superstar did not take a backward step. The bald exterior has been his go-to look for over a decade now and while he was blessed with a decent perm once upon a time, the actor's response was well worth it.
"Why I luv GIFs," he wrote. "I'm not bald because I went bald. I'm bald because my hair is a cross between an afro and hair from a Lama's ball sac. #TheU."
