As the divorce between Hollywood megastars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie creates a wave of headlines and content for the gossip pages, the melodrama now has a new development. The Brangelina break now sees actress Marion Cotillard going public to distance herself from the controversy. The Sydney Morning Herald reports that the star of Allied with the soon-to-be divorcee Pitt was at the heart of salacious rumors. Intimating that the pair were having an affair during filming of the picture.
The 40-year old French actress and star of The Dark Knight Rises decided to get on the front foot to go public. Especially since news broke that she happens to be pregnant with her second child. Only adding fuel to an already out-of-control fire. Taking to Instagram, she posted a length statement with an obscure image attached in response.
Jennifer Aniston and Chelsea Handler Show No Sympathy For Jolie
In a perhaps not-too-surprising turn of events, entertainment BFFs Jennifer Aniston and Chelsea Handler offered a frank assessment of the marriage breakdown. Given Aniston's divorce from Pitt. A divorce that came shortly after the actor filmed Mr. & Mrs. Smith with Jolie in 2004. The Friends actress is reported by The Daily Mail to have commented, "Thats karma for you!"

This occurred prior to Handler going for the jugular on her Netflix talk show. Where she described Jolie as a "f***ing lunatic" to exacerbate the issue further. Both Aniston and Handler have been close for a number of years, and it is evident how close they are by their respective responses to the break up.
Timing of Allied TV Spot Curious
Shortly after this media debacle spilled out, Paramount decided to drop the steamy TV spot for Allied, seemingly cashing in on the frenzy that was taking place. The footage shows the pair getting intimate, enjoying a wedding and putting their lives on the line for each other in the World War 2 drama about to hit theaters.
Perhaps it falls right on schedule, but the timing does appear to be somewhat cynical. Given the drama that is taking place away from the cameras, the movie could very well be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
