International Trailer for Ghostbusters.
Thirty years after the original film took the world by storm, Ghostbusters is back and fully rebooted for a new generation. Director Paul Feig combines all the paranormal fighting elements that made the original franchise so beloved with a cast of new characters, played by the funniest actors working today. Get ready to watch them save the world this summer!
Sony Pictures is hoping to capitalize on the wildly successful Ghostbusters franchise which made a good profit, especially the first film. And now the budget on this years Ghostbusters is roughly 5 times greater:
Ghostbusters (1984) - $242 Million (budget $32 Million)
Ghostbusters II (1989) - $112 Million (budget $37 Million)
Ghostbusters (2016) - ??? (budget $154 million)
Well, as bad as the I thought the first trailer was....this trailer is much much better. I wish I never saw the first trailer, but it is like seeing a traumatizing event and just cannot be erased from my memory.
We get to see much more of the assistant Kevin (Chris Hemsworth) which I thought was missing from the first trailer.
The flow of the International Trailer is much better and has a great mix of laughs (without too much cheese) and a feel for the original film. There is one scene from the first trailer that really bothered me, when Patty (Leslie Jones) slaps the ghost out of Abby (Melissa McCarthy)...way too much cheese...and so glad to see that was not in this trailer. I also liked how towards the end of this trailer, right before they are going to cut to the Ghostbusters logo, they used a flying ghost perfectly timed to the theme music which gave a perfect transition and made me actually think of the original film. All in all this trailer was way better than the first, but I still think this film will never live up to the original.
