Theatrical trailer for The Expendables 3.
The mercenary group, The Expendables, led by Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), come face to face with the team's co-founder Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson). Ross was forced to kill Stonebanks after he became a ruthless arms trader, but Stonebanks survived and has now made it his mission to destroy The Expendables. Ross resorts to recruiting a new and younger generation of Expendables to help the team overcome his old adversary.
Even though The Expendables 3 comes with a large ensemble cast featuring many well known actors, there are quite of bit of other actors that turned down a role in the franchise's third film:
Bruce Willis was set to return to his role of Mr. Church, but he demanded $1 million per day and was too rich for Sylvester Stallone. So, instead of Willis, Harrison Ford was hired as a new character and Mr. Church is no more.
Nicolas Cage was an option to play the role of Bonaparte before Kelsey Grammer was finalized.
Milla Jovovich was offered the role of Camilla but turned it down due to her commitments on Resident Evil 6 and Cymbeline.
Lucas Till was an option for the role of Smilee before Kellan Lutz got the role.
Steven Seagal and Jackie Chan were both said to be offered roles but turned them down.
