The full length feature trailer for Twilight.
Twilight is an action-packed, modern day love story between a vampire and a human. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother remarries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she's ever met. Intelligent and witty, he sees straight into her soul. Soon, Bella and Edward are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance. Edward can run faster than a mountain lion, he can stop a moving car with his bare hands – and he hasn't aged since 1918. Like all vampires, he's immortal. But he doesn't have fangs, and he doesn't drink human blood; Edward and his family are unique among vampires in their lifestyle choice. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for – a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward & Bella do when James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi) and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre), the Cullens' mortal vampire enemies, come to town, looking for her? Based on the Stephenie Meyer book.
The entire Twilight movie was shot in just 48 days.
Robert Pattinson had never heard of the Twilight novels; he only auditioned because he admired Kristen Stewart's work in Into the Wild.
Pattinson plays the piano for real in the scene when Edward plays 'Bella's lullaby'.
Nikki Reed was so impressed with Pattinson's musical ability that she secretly recorded him while he was singing and playing his guitar, then went to producers and asked them to include his music on the soundtrack. They agreed and Pattinson contributed two songs (one on the CD, two on the digital album).
Stephenie Meyer's hugely popular vampire Twilight novels are brought to life on film, starring Robert Pattinson as Edward and Kristen Stewart as Bella. This first installment sets up the meeting of Edward, a vampire who only feeds on animals, and Bella, possibly the most depressed and moody teen you'll ever meet.
The pair fall head over heels for each other and, while this storyline might have many flaws, the chemistry between Pattinson and Stewart is utterly compelling and you'll find yourself unable to stop watching. There's a lot to be said for the nature of Bella and Edward's relationship; that is very insular, destructive and not at all healthy. They're completely obsessed with one another, to the point that Bella tells Edward she doesn't want to live if she can't be with him (and she's entirely serious), but at the same time, you can't help but sigh happily whenever they're together.
There's not much of a break from the Bella/ Edward plot, but we are introduced to Edward's family, who all seem exceptionally nice (apart from two) considering they're supposedly bloodsucking killers. Also, it appears that all other vampires except the Cullen family still continue to hunt humans.
As you can tell from the trailer, Twilight is a bleak, dark film both in its plot and its cinematography. There's not a lot of light or humor in it, which I struggle with, but that's not to say it's not a decent enough movie. One for the fangirls (or fanboys) maybe, rather than a casual viewer who might think to question the nature of vampires as shown in the Twilight movies V the legends of old.
