Trailer for the documentary Concrete Coast.
The documentary is about the last stretch of un-urbanized Spanish Mediterranean coastline being built up for residential tourism in Murcia. Agriculture is disappearing and is being replaced by 60 golf courses, freeways, marinas and 1 million news homes for British retirees. The impacts of these large-scale plans are illustrated by a Spanish family being expropriated of their land and a retired British couple embarking on their new life in the sun in a land where they do not even speak the language. Will the farmers have to emigrate? How will the global economic crisis affect the region?
