The former champion in curling, now heavily medicated, and absolute non-sports active (according to doctors' recommendation), Truls Paulsen hears that his old friend Gordon is ill and near death. The only thing that can save him is an expensive operation in America. Gordon must be saved, whatever the cost. The occasion arises when it announced a new championship with a larger cash prize. Will Truls Paulsen ride out the worst of his obsessions, breaking with psychosis, break away from his overprotective wife and stay mentally stable enough to lead his team to another victory in the championship?
