The film follows Saliya Kahawatte (Kostja Ullmann), a promising student determined to achieve his dream of working at a prestigious luxury hotel despite losing the majority of his sight as a teenager. Deciding to hide the fact he is visually impaired, Saliya manages to land an apprenticeship at one of Munich's top hotels and quickly becomes a respected member of the team. However, after meeting and falling in love with Laura (Anna Maria Mühe), Saliya's elaborate scheme to hide his condition soon begins to fall apart.
