Duane Graves grew up in a suburban neighborhood of San Antonio, Texas, where he befriended Rene Moreno, a young man with Down Syndrome nine houses down. Inspired by his confidence, Duane teamed up with Rene to shoot a series of wacky productions on a VHS camcorder he got for Christmas in 1987.
