Trailer for First Kill starring Bruce Willis and Hayden Christensen.
In order to reconnect with his son Danny (Ty Shelton), big shot Wall Street broker Will (Hayden Christensen) takes his family on a hunting trip to the cabin where he grew up. While out hunting with Danny, the trip takes a deadly turn when they stumble upon several robbers and witness the murder of one of the criminals. After becoming entangled in a bank heist gone bad that results in the kidnapping of Danny, Will is forced to help the kidnappers evade the police chief (Bruce Willis) and recover the stolen loot in exchange for his son’s life.
First Kill is Ty Shelton's first time landing a role for the big screen, he plays Hayden Christensen's son in this film. Ty's first acting role was playing Tiny Tim in A "Christmas Carol" at The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. He went on to play Young Angus and Nick Stewart in "Mad River Rising," and Dill in the Playhouse's critically acclaimed run of "To Kill A Mockingbird."
You may have not heard of Director Steven C. Miller, here are the other film he has Directed: Arsenal, Marauders, Submerged, Extraction, Silent Night, Under the Bed, and The Aggression Scale. Miller is also slotted to direct the upcoming Escape Plan 2 and Escape Plan 3 starring Sylvester Stallone.
First Kill is only the second feature film script Nick Gordon has written. The first one was Girl House starring Ali Cobrin, about a young college student desperate for tuition money moves into a house that streams content to an X-rated website.
I must admit that Hayden Christensen playing a father has me a bit freaked out. Seeing Anakin all grown up makes me feel even older. Hard to believe that Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones came out 15 years ago!
As an actor, I have never been a fan of Hayden Christensen. I did not like him as Anakin and have not liked him in any other of his roles (especially Jumper). I keep hoping he will prove me wrong and maybe First Kill is that film...maybe.
The good news is that playing alongside Hayden is Bruce Willis, who is perfect for a tough nose, possibly corrupt, police officer. But, I am not sure that Bruce is enough to pull this film together as he looks to have minimal screen time. Overall the film has a low budget feel to it and could be a good On Demand film.
