Trailer for Hotel Artemis, starring Jodie Foster, Sterling K. Brown, Sofia Boutella, Jeff Goldblum and Bryan Tyree Henry.
In Hotel Artemis, set in riot-torn, near-future Los Angeles, Jodie Foster plays The Nurse, who runs a secret, members-only emergency room for criminals.
Hotel Artemis will be the first time Drew Pearce steps into the Director's chair for a feature film. He has some previous experience but just with short films. However, he has some experience as a Writer for feature films. He has written the script for films such as:
Iron Man 3
Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation
Sherlock Holmes 3 (announced)
Untitled Ghostbusters Project (announced)
Hotel Artemis will also be Jodie Foster's first acting role since Elyisium, back in 2013. It will be nice to see her back on the big screen.
If you have not heard of this film, then you are not alone. This film has been kept under wraps ever since it was announced. There even has not been an official synopsis released yet. Luckily, now we have the first trailer and can get a good idea of what the film will be about. It will center around the Hotel Artemis, a secret hospital for criminal, and its caretaker The Nurse (Jodie Foster). There are a set of strict rules to keep things orderly, but towards the end these rules are broken.
The first thing that jumped out at me is this ensemble cast: Jodie Foster, Sterling K. Brown, Sofia Boutella, Jeff Goldblum, Bryan Tyree Henry,
Jenny Slate, Zachary Quinto, Charlie Day, and Dave Bautista. Cannot wait to see all of them on the big screen. I kept thinking of The Continental Hotel in John Wick as I watched the trailer and how it felt similar to the Hotel Artemis. The Continental Hotel was protected by an agreement among assassins and Hotel Artemis has that similar protection for outlaws.
