Teaser trailer for The Woods, a secret horror from Lionsgate.
A group of college students on a camping trip who discover they are not alone.
Everything about The Woods has been a teaser. Lionsgate seems to be holding their deck close when it comes to this horror, as not only have they been limited in terms of details, that they do not even provide an official synopsis to give us a sense of story. What we do know is that a group of college-aged kids go into the woods and shit happens. That's it.
To help us better understand what to expect, Lionsgate says: One of the scariest movies in decades, The Woods reinvents horror with a completely fresh and terrifying take on the genre.
See? Not much to go on.
While it sounds like I am complaining about The Woods, the one nod I'll give Lionsgate is that they actually released a legitimate teaser trailer for the film. It was only about five months ago when we gave an interview discussing how teaser trailers were an endangered species. Even when a studio would call a trailer a teaser, it would still run over two minutes and provide a ton of footage. Not exactly a teaser.
The Woods, on the other hand, seems to enjoy revealing little save for a sense of demise for our would-be campers. Or are they hikers?
